Supported Independent Living at Nurse Aid Australia means a home — not a facility. Participants live in real homes across Adelaide, with support structured around their individual goals and clinical needs. For complex participants, support is woven into daily life — because that is what their needs require.

Staffing matched to needs

Built for complex support needs

Forensic & Justice-Involved

Participants with forensic or justice-involved backgrounds transitioning to community living.

Acquired Brain Injury

Participants with acquired brain injury and associated cognitive and behavioural support needs.

Dementia Support

Participants living with dementia who require behaviour management and clinical oversight.

High Intensity Support

Participants requiring clinical support workers trained in high intensity daily activities including seizure management and complex medication administration.

How SIL Funding Works

Understanding NDIS SIL
funding and access

SIL is funded under the NDIS as Supported Independent Living — a separate funding line from the participant's core supports. Here is what needs to be in place before a participant can access a placement.

SIL funding in the NDIS plan

The participant needs SIL funding approved in their NDIS plan.

Assessment completed

An assessment is typically required — usually from an Occupational Therapist or Support Coordinator.

Provider selected

The participant (or their nominee) selects a SIL provider.

Service agreement established

A service agreement is established between the participant and the provider.

SDA — Specialist Disability Accommodation

Alongside our Supported Independent Living, NAA provides Specialist Disability Accommodation — purpose-suited housing for participants whose needs call for it.
